Latest Project

Weeks ago, the oldest one comes home from school with what seems like the Webster's dictionary full of papers. It was all fliers, notes, letters, updates, and homework. While going through it I noticed that the annual Giving Tree was set up outside the principal's office. It was to be filled with warm hats, mittens, and scarves for children.

I told the oldest that I would knit her a hat that she could put on the tree. She protested. She stated that a hat would simply not be enough. I would have to make a scarf and mittens as well. "Well, just a hat won't keep them warm enough."

After some careful thought of the colors that she wanted to use, we sat down and made them. She helped knit the scarf in her own way and designed most of it.

She placed it on the tree today.

And I love all of you! That child of yours is as giving and loving as her parents. Love the colors in the warm hat, scarf and mittens. Some lucky child will be toasty thanks to you and your 'oldest' one, especially since it was made with so much love and thoughtfulness.
